______A 16-year-old boy died after he was

___stabbed a number of times in north-west

___London by a group who had chased him,

___police have said.

05__._The Metropolitan police were called to

___Munster Square in Camden, close to Regent’s

___Park, at about 11.10pm on Monday. The boy

___was pronounced dead at the scene, with

___paramedics in attendance, and his next of kin

10_were informed.

______DCI Paul Healy said in a statement that

___police were in the early stages of their murder

___investigation and appealed for members of

___the public to “do the right thing and speak to

15_us”, with no arrests yet made.

______“We believe the victim was chased around

___the square by a number of suspects prior to

___being stabbed a number of times,” he said.

___“The suspects made off in a vehicle which was

20_discovered burnt out nearby. Another vehicle

___believed to be involved in the incident was

___also found burnt out some distance away.”

______At the scene on Tuesday afternoon next to

___Munster Square, which sits in the middle of a

25_number of tall council blocks, a large police

___cordon remained in place and stretched across

___a number of nearby roads. Residents said the

___cordon was so large because the boy had been

___chased.

30_.__A resident, Rosanara Begum, told the

___Evening Standard: “The boy was running away

___from them. Then we saw the two boys holding

___him and the other one stabbing him."

______“As soon as I heard: ‘Help me,

35_help me,’ I was on the phone to the

___ambulance. He was bleeding a lot. The

___attackers were skinny and just looked like

___teenagers. They were running off and they

___were screaming and laughing.”

40__._Her daughter added: “We saw three boys

___all wearing hoods all covered in black, the

___middle one had a long black machete-type

___knife. It was really long.”
