According to Levi (1999), electronic means of information, among them the Internet, are the main instruments for accessing knowledge. During the XXI, years after Levy wrote such a statement, this reality has become even stronger for the majority of students. Having said that, one could conclude that the presence of new technologies in the current teaching of foreign languages is pressing. Among the possible reasons for the usage of internet in English classes one could mention that:

Alternativa A:
Nowadays, the internet has been able to comprise every source of information required for the learning of any language in short and objective ways, so researchers deem it the only needed and effective resource for teaching English in the contemporaneity.
Alternativa B:
Internet can replace all the other learning resources, including books and the teacher.
Alternativa C:
The internet is an interesting resource, but only for reinforcing contents already studied and assimilated by the student.
Alternativa D:
The internet can promote the use of languages in authentic and meaningful contexts.
Alternativa E:
The internet cannot be considered an interesting learning resource given the amount of misguided information it provides.
